Ladies 4s vs Blueharts 6

Thankfully the mighty Ladies Letchworth 4s are night owls and so the big match slot of 4pm at Blueharts suited us just great. Fired up with the Thursday training tactics - Jacquie skillfully got us into line. Blueharts cameuu out the blocks rapidly and were not afraid to run and shoot on goal. Thankfully our backs stayed solid and everyone did their bit up keep the ball out. Our chances came too with some great passing round oppo on both left and right. Helen’s big hits were gratefully received by our forwards and if anyone can get a short it’s Haidee. Helen strikes and despite defenders and the GK she finds a narrow path to the back board. Wer hoo 1 up. The next 15 were an even mix of end to end hockey and despite the hour it seemed unfeesably hot to me! Again a well deserved short gained from our determined forward line and again Helen strikes again wer hoo 2 up. Thankfully halftime and time to breathe and refuel.

In the second half Blueharts came back into it and despite fine battling from us they got 2 goals to make it 2-2 with 15 to go! Both teams wanted to win and Letchworth got their quality passing back and released Izzy into space running on goal and yes she only went and scored 1 on 1 against the GK. Wer hoo 3-2 to us. We dug in for the last 10 and got our win. Well done Ladies 4s a great team effort and especially the youngsters whose legs kept going. Emma was our well deserved WOM.
